Story
The Patan ko Dhoka Necklace draws its inspiration from the magnificent handcrafted wooden doors found in one of Nepal's most extraordinary places, Patan Durbar Square. This location holds immense historical and architectural significance, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship of the Newari people.
Similar to its counterpart in Kathmandu, Patan Durbar Square is situated in the heart of the city and was once the royal palace of the Patan kings. The square is a captivating blend of palace structures, artistic courtyards, and elegant pagoda temples, showcasing the pinnacle of Newari architecture during the reign of the Malla kings.
Patan's charm lies in its well-preserved narrow streets, brick houses, and a plethora of Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries (vihars), and monuments. As you explore the city, you'll be enchanted by the melodic sound of craftsmen meticulously shaping intricate statuettes.
